From sketchbooks to sparkle
Hi, my name is Destiny, or as you've also seen, Dezzie!! Face painting has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started helping my mom at her work events when I was around 12 or 13, painting both kids and adults and learning how a simple design could completely light someone up. What started as helping out quickly became something I truly loved.
By age 15, I was working as a face painter at the St. Louis Zoo. I spent the next few years growing my skills, building confidence, and discovering my own style. Now at 25, I've turned that passion into my own business, creating designs that bring a little extra magic to every event.
Art goes beyond the face painting too. I'm also a proud co-author of Happy Island Books, a children's book series built around imagination, joy, and the magic of storytelling.
That moment when a shy four-year-old becomes a fearless tiger or a quiet eight-year-old transforms into a mermaid queen, that's the reason I do this. It's not just paint, it's confidence, imagination, and a little bit of everyday magic.
When I'm not painting faces, you'll catch me sketching new designs, exploring color theory, and dreaming up the next theme for a party.
